Hello again everyone!I have a couple of questions if I may ask,I have a selection of roses to prune, can I do this now? also my bay bushes that turned brown and brittle with frost last year have many new green shoots from base now.Can I use them in cooking or not, or are they suckers, if so what shall I do? cheers Masie

I only lightly prune roses now to stop wind rock then prune hard in mid spring. your suckers from your bay will be perfectly safe to eat. If the main stem has died then prune it off and encourage it into a bush. it will be perfectly ok.

Ramblers should have been done in September, so you can do those now, otherwise do as Seaburngirl suggests, except I'd say prune them properly end of Feb beginning of March.
