Have planted dahlias for the first time, and now dug up to store overwinter. Seem to think you have to store in newspaper is that right?

Recommendation is to clean off soil, clip off any foliage, stand upside down in a tray of sand for a week or so to dry off, then pot up in sand, or sand and peat, or sand and compost, keep somewhere frost free till early next spring, repot in fresh compost and start into growth ready for planting out end of May.
