i have a 12 foot cordoline that has not been cared for properly in recent years. It has die back on some branches and i want to cut it back to 8 feet high when is the best time to do the cutting so frost wont affect the tree.

i would rap up all the growth as we are supposed to be in for another cold winter and better safe than sorry anyway then do what bamboo sais next year.

Leave it till late Spring, so around end of May, early June, when you can see if there's any more damage from this winter, if we have another harsh one.
