One thing to remember is that clematis likes to have its roots somewhere cool and shady - something to bear in mind with a south facing patio

Not an easy one. However, I have found Clematis 'Fair Rosamund' which is white with a light pink bar, or Clematis flammula which has small all-white flowers. The C.armandii species are evergreen and flower early, these are also scented. I hope that this helps.
