I was wondering do I need to take my Heuchera-Firefly from the ground during the winter months or just leave it with some good covering around it?

Firefly is rated as a zone 3 Jen. So long as it won't be sitting in soggy soil for any length of time it should be fine unless you are in the far north. If you're worried, give it a bit of a blanket of mulch.

I leave mine in situ and it came through -20 last winter in the UK. Unless it gets a lot colder in Canada that is.
