I have two raised beds with wooden surrounds. I am leaving them 'bare' this Winter, but want to cover them to ensure the soil warms up quickly in the Spring. Should I use bubble-wrap, or black fibre glass sheeting - or something else?

Hi Rod and welcome to GoY, you need to cover them with something that the soil can breath through so bubble wrap isn't a good idea. You could try old carpet upside down or cardboard - take a look at the permaculture site and you'll get lots of ideas.

In the past I have used black weed supressing membrane. as it is porous and the black warms up the soil quicker.
