Here's a list of plants that tolerate alkaline soil which would be happy on a bank. Geranium sanguineum, Geranium 'Brookside', Bergenia 'Beethoven', Viola cornuta, Campanula glomerata.Euphorbia sikkimensis and Phytolacca polyandra. Hope this helps. Good luck.
