Re my "new Green house". Well yesterday I ordered it through ebay..a new one..not second hand and it will be delivered in the next week or so..my question is: in my first question around christmas time doctorbob said I should position it north/ south with the door facing south, exactly north / south I can´t get it...either the door will face south west or south east....which way is better or doesn´t it really matter in this case?.

South West is a warmer direction than South east. To a certain extent the prevailing wind direction is what you need to know, The door really wants to be on the more sheltered side so that the wind cannot get into the greenhouse.

I'd go for south west too - that way you avoid cold easterly winds getting in through the door.

Thanks for the answers.

Yes, South West is the best position as warmer air will flow through the door. As you are in Germany your prevailing winds are from the West, I would be inclined to have two vents in the roof on the South East side and one on the North West side.

I am of the opinion that greenhouses should have a door at each end.

..but in a small greenhouse this limits the space on the end 'wall' for staging/pots etc!!

Even so, my staging used to go across the door at one end, it could be opened but obviously not walked through.

How do I say thanks?
