Hi everyone! I've not been on here for a while - not alot going on in my garden unfortunately and the weather is not allowing me to get out there - feeling very frustrated! First the snow, now floods of rain! Feeling very frustrated - my shed needs to be cleared out - I bet loads of spiders have taken up residence....urghhh! Anyone else feeling the need to get out there and can't because of the weather?

Yep. But I'm lucky. Just starting new garden centre so am clearing and tidying in preparation for stock coming in. It was a cress bed on chalk, and the current weather has lifted the water table to, um, difficult levels. I shall have to stock marginal plants! Worthy

Oh yes I still haven't been able to plant my bulbs :o( lol I don't have many but the weather has just been impossible.

Yes I feel the same really, but forced myself to go out and do some clearing up, chopped some hedge small for eventual bonfire, decided to chop back a tree very radically, killed some weeds that miraculously seem to have thrived through the arctic conditions - so unfair!...
Once I was out there, even in the rain, it lifted my gardening spirits - but the thought of all that mud and unsunshiny murkiness from the kitchen window and the safety of the kettle beforehand - ugh!
We have plenty of "perpetual" jobs in our garden. The hedge trimming will really never be conquered, nor will the weeding of the veg patch. No shortage of stuff to do!

Oh yes, Greenfingers. I've been out every possible moment in the last week or so - but I draw the line at pouring rain. It really is frustrating. We'll just have to look through the seed and plant catalogues and do some planning. Chin up! :-)

Lovely blue sky day, so far today, and not too cold Greenfingers. Later on I will force myself out now that my dizzies have cleared. Plants under fleece need reviewing and I fear casualties. Nasty green oniony things need weeding out again, after last years assault on them. Not so bad as they were.....always something to do.

Yup! I feel just like that Greenfingers. We have a reasonable day today so I'm out to do some weeding. Why do the weeds and grass seeds germinate and grow so fast, before the "wanted" plants can get going?

For the first time in over 40 years of gardening I have totally lost interest in it.

That's not surprising, Ob. I've heard that from lots of people this year. I hope you perk up soon. We all need some sunshine now.

Oh OB its never right, you feeling like that, but I do understand, I'm just waiting for spring praying for fresh new shoots on plants that I think I've lost this winter, which I suspect is quite a few, very depressing

Oh yes, I have been out at every spell of nicer weather, but would love to get going, and doing more in the garden.

I've been gardening today, taking hardwood cuttings etc. Had a lovely Robin seranading me! Lovely sunshine too. It's really cheered me up!

Been out gardening, but took little pleasure in it to be brutally honest. Did it in the same sense as people do housework, it needs doing.
Very hard to get motivated. Never really felt like this before, usually the opposite and have to be dragged in.

I feel the same Owdboggy, and it's a horrible feeling.I keep expecting to feel more enthusiastic tomorrow but it's a long time coming.I'm glad i'm not the only one though, i was begining to think it was just me. Cheer up spring is just round the corner. :-))

I was the same Owdboggy. I went early to supermarket to avoid crowds and young children. Did a hopefully 2 mile plod around the rubbish tip that is our town! Then stood and looked at the garden through the kitchen window! Renewed the bird facilities, and checked my fleeced up geraniums and fuschias......geraniums kaput.....Fuchsias ok... so far. Understand what you mean Owdboggy, as a I marvelled at the gas bill and forked out to top up my diesel tank. All the time the Robin sang.
