Hi it's me again, wonderboy. My leeks are rubbish this season. They are soft, small and have a pinky/orange streak on them. Is this some kind of virus or a grub? How do I overcome it this year? My onion sets were hopeless also, however, I grew ailsa Craig onions from seed and they were fine. What is the deal? Help!!!!!!!

Leek moth, which also affects onions. The yellow growth is dead tissue as a result of the caterpillars chompings. Worthy.

Hello, could the problem be caused by leaf miner?, are there signs of any maggotts where the rot is? and do you rotate your onion crops inc leeks every two years.
