Some of my hyancinth bulbs are pushing out the flowerheads which are already starting to change colour.

Is this O.K, and does this mean that they will fade earlier, and is there also the chance that the frost could kill the flowers off when they come out?

Thanks in advance.

The changing colour before they've fully emerged does happen sometimes - it's a pity they're so early (assume they're outdoor and not indoor) because the frost may well damage the blooms.

OH NO!

Yes they are outdoors, so I suppose I will have to just take it as I find it, and hope that they remain O.K.

A bit of frost is okay, it's if it gets really cold, so that everywhere is frozen again - trouble is, it's been unseasonably mild for the last 3 weeks, so all the plants are getting ahead of themselves.

Yeah, I have noticed. I expected more snow in London, but it's been rain instead.

How do I say thanks?
