My friend has lots of cordylines which he has wrapped in fleece, however he has taken a couple of them indoors and the outer leaves have turned brown the centre still lookes quite healthy, is this due to lack of light and too much heat? He doesn't water them much either. Thanks for any advice.

Yes, I'd guess the browning of the leaves is due to heated, dry air - they're not used to that at all...
