What is this plant? It was given to my mum by an elderly neighbour who didn't know what it was. We've had it for years now and have given several 'cuttings' away to friends and family. I just want to know what it is as nobody seems to have come across it before! Thank you :)

Yes, one of the 'shrimp rooted' Oxalis though I have not seen the purple leaves before.

Yes Owdboggy, Oxalis triangularis subsp. papilionaceae 'Atropurpurea' is it's full (very full!!) name - it was previously called Oxalis regnellii

And despite what it looks like it is not classed as a 'bulb' for showing purposes as it is not a monocot!

Oxalis triangularis atropupurea is what it used to be called, but I have a feeling the name has changed recently. Still it is definitely an Oxalis.
