My husband has bought me a mini greenhouse but I am not sure when to start using it. Do I have to wait until the frosts etc are finished.

No, you can use the greenhouse now. There are February seeds taht can be planted, and as lomg as the door is kept shut when not in use, you could put tender or hlaf hardy plants in there to help them survive the harsh winter. I think that February still has some very harsh weather to throw at us.
