Could anyone tell me why my Cercis - Forest Pansy - has given up. It was fine for three years - then last year the leaves were small and sick and now it's dead. It's - or was - in a south facing corner - with light soil - and I shall miss it - Can I replant in the same place. Please help me - it was the favourite plant in the whole of my garden.

Will add photo when I've taught my computer how.!

Sounds like a fungal attack, probably from below. Honey fungus may be the reason. Have a look at the bark at the base of the stem. If it lifts off, and smells 'mushroomy' underneath, then I suspect honey fungus. The only way to diagnose any problem is to see the tree. Worthy
