i've never pruned our pieris, but there many experienced gardeners on this forum , so you should get a definative answer ......steve

You only need to prune it if its got too big for the space you want it to occupy. I pruned mine last year because it was getting too tall, It certainly produced more flowers and new red growth afterwards.
