i have inch long worms in a veg patcth where i grew cabbage last summer,they are light brown in colour,its put me off planting anything else there ,will it be ok to or should i get rid of them and how?

Or pick them out and put them in the compost bin, where they can chew on the larger pieces of your future soil conditioner.

They are probably 'nasty' grubs rather than worms. Keep going into the plot and turning the soil over, with luck the birds will follow you and eat these worms.
