I have a 20ft tall mimosa in my garden. Usually, at this time of year, it's just coming into flower and is smothered in yellow blooms! This year, however, the early snow has killed all the flowers and the tree is completely brown. I think the tree itself is still alive, I wondered whether I should cut it right back or leave it and see if it will recover?

I would give it a few months and see how much of it sprouts out. What's brown now will help protect the living part from further frost damage. Once it sprouts, just cut off everything that isn't sprouting vigorously, plus a bit more for shape and balance.
