I planted 3 mossy saxifrage (pink flowers) last year and they thrived, however, over the winter they have developed brown rotten patches in the centres .... is this the winter weather? - will they come back? ... can I do anything to help them improve? The perimeter of the plants are looking green and healthy but the centres are all brown! Help!

It is probably the snow as much as anything that has killed off part of the plants, Vg. They will survive but not be quite as tidy as they were last year. The original plants will grow in size and, with luck, will have self seeded so you will get plenty of small plants round about.
