Lovely, but what is it?

As a new gardener I spent my 1st year building up a base of shrubs. This spring I sowed loads of different seeds at random. This was one of the flowers to come up but please can someone tell me what it is? It grew rapidly to about 3 feet and had hundreds of these lovely white blooms over a period of 8 to 10 weeks. ,

It's one of the Mallow family. I would guess at Lavatera trimestris 'Mont Blanc'. I grew some pink ones last year. I like yours better!

HAHA Andrew - we both pressed 'submit' at the same moment! Glad we agree.

Thanks for the replies, they came from seeds in a packet of 'white mix for borders' so I didn't have a clue what they were.
I have collected loads of seeds from them so I will definitely be sowing them again next year.

I've got a free packet of seeds from my magazine - so I'll probably grow some too. :-)

I believe it's the mallow family - malva. Ring any bells?
