Please can you recommend what roses I should grow in containers against a fence to cover as no soil to plant roses. Fast growing if possible and what size planter should I use. Is it only one rose for one pot or can you plant 2/3 in same pot?

Patio roses are small and not suitable to cover a fence.

Hi Jennifer,
we have a container next to a trellis and grow the old fashioned climbing rose Zepherine Drouhin . It's a lovely deep pink rose which flowers all Summer and has a slight scent, and is thornless. It is fast growing too, but only plant one in your container. We also have one of the newer roses Penny lane in a container [climbing and fast growing] a pale apricot colour and flowers all Summer too. Buy a good sized pot, not too small. There is lots of advice on planting roses [what compost and feed etc] if you Google 'care and planting of roses'. Good luck.

Hi
Try looking for Patio roses or Hybird tea roses, these are good for containers and there are climbing variations if u want them to cover your fence... some are scented too!
