Can I use shredded hawthorn tree clippings as a mulch? seems a shame to throw it away.

Alternatively if you have woodland type paths you could put the chippings on that.

You can use them as a mulch, but do not be surprised that fungi, some of strange shapes will appear. It will be the natural process of decomposition.

Hi mamamareeno, I have used chipped shrubs and prunings on my garden but only after they have been left to compost down, like you would do with leaf litter. Thats if you have somewhere to stash it. I don't think hawthorn harbours any nasties, so I would think you would be ok
Happy mulching!
