I planted some delphiniums 3 years ago, which I grew from seed they have flourished and given lovely blooms, with the bad winter my border has suffered and I may need to move things around, do delphiniums benefit from being moved and I did read something about dividing them like you do geraniums, has anybody else had success with doing this and is now the best time to move delphiniums.

The crowns of your Delphiniums must have many growing tips to divide. You can do it with two border forks back to back, your herbaceous border may look dead at the moment, so wait for a few more weeks to see the new growth starting through to dead growth before cleaning up and forking through, add a light dressing of Blood, Fish and Bone as you go.
