My Torbay palm has lost all it's leaves through the snow this winter the baby at the base also rotted and fell off. The bark is also coming off the trunk will it survive and regrow or has the snow killed it off? If there is a possibility of new growth and how long should I wait to see?

I have to say the same thing happened to me, if you feel the stem it will be either firmish or very soft... mine was like an over ripe cucumber... fatal i am afraid... i have since replaced the poor thing and hopefully will remember to fleece up next winter lol

Fleece didn't save most of my fatalities, Pammie. :-(((

If its not actually soggy and rotting, wait till June if you can bear to - it may by then have produced new growth - or not, in which case you can remove it.

So many casualties this year, I'm afraid. You could wait until late spring to see if any more shoots appear from the base if you can bear to see it looking so sad until then, or give up and get rid. I have with one or two of the badly hit shrubs - they were eye-sores with little hope of a revival, sadly. :-(
