I have little tiny flies hovering over my lawn is there anything I can do to get rid of them

These are normal and provide food for garden birds etc. No treatment needed.

Do you only notice the 'flies' when the sun is out, particularly morning and evening? Or are they hovering directly above the lawn and all over the whole thing, sun or no sun? Have you applied any organic compost to either the lawn or any nearby borders?
