Damp, shady conditions, poor drainage promote moss growth, and algae too. Depends where your moss is as to how to resolve it - on the lawn, use a lawn mosskiller treatment - on paths and hard surfaces, either pressure wash, or brush/scrape off. If the hard surfaces aren't near flower beds which will get the run off, a bleach solution or a specialist patio cleaner solution will help get rid of it.
