why do the leaves get yellow of the black arum lily

My white Arum lilies in the garden has leaves that go yellow. This is as the leaves die down the plants has no use for them any more.
Is youre plant outside or in the house?
As its a black arum lily, it's not hardy so if it is outside, it could be the cold affecting it.
