please could anyone help?I have some rhubarb plants that have all started to flower.can anyone tell me if this is normal and what should I do.

they are very early to flower [usually late may/june]. are you confusing the furled leaves as they poke through the soil. My leaf stalks are only about 6" tall.

if they are flowers then just cut them off. can you add a photo to help with the problem.

thank you for your help.they are in flower,I have not had much experience at growing rhubarb before I grew them from seed 2 years ago and this is the first time they have flowered.but I shall cut them off if you think it best thank you so much for your help.Ann Lawry

I've seen a couple of questions the same as yours on other websites, where people have got flowering rhubarb right now. One person said the only thing coming off his rhubarb was flowers, which he's removed. And that's what you should do, remove them as quickly as possible right at the base, and systematically remove any others which appear straight away. I seem to recall one variety was prone to this, but can't remember its name - otherwise, dry conditions can cause this problem, in theory.
