Pruning Lady Boothby - first year, from childhood!
United Kingdom
I have recently purchased an Lady Boothby, it is now about 5" tall. Do I pinch it out after about 3/4/5 No. side shoots like I do for most of my other varieties? Hope you will put me out of my misery.

I wish mine was SBG! I had a look at it today - still no sign of growth. Waiting, waiting....

Mine doesnt show any sign of life until June, I Usually cut it down to 3 or 4 leaf joints after the risk of frosts has past.

Thank you for the guidance. My LB is soaring away in the Greenhouse, I'll stop it off after the 5th and will probably plant it out on Cup Final Day. A large proportion of my other Fuschia's are flowering away in the greenhouse I suppose I should have debudded them but I am an old softie and didn't like to hurt them!
All the best, singleminded (note that I am an NG not an MP!)

I left mine alone as it is a scambler type plant. The side shoots are going to add to the display. mine regularly gets to 5ft tall. This winter It has been cut back to ground leve but it is growing away again.
