We have a holly bush in a pot and it has been growning nicely for the last couple of years but this year the leaves at the bottom of the plant are going black and the leaves at the top are going brown, are dry and are dropping off. All in all it is looking somewhat sad. Does anyone have any ideas as to the problem please?

You say you've had it in a pot for a couple of years - has it been in the same pot all that time? If so, it'll need repotting, probably desperately, into something larger with fresh compost. Turn it out of its pot to see if its rootbound.
