Does anyone know how to care for bare root laurel plants, we planted 100 about 4 weeks ago and they look pretty ropie, not sure if we are looking after them properly, can anyone help?

I'd concur with Grandmage, but knowing where you are in the UK would have made answering this a bit easier. If you're anywhere in the south, it's been far too dry, and bare root plants should really have gone in in February/early March at the latest. You will need to soak them regularly to give them a chance of survival until they start forming water seeking roots.

I sent pictures of my bare root laurel hedging to the supplier - who agreed that they were below the standard they expect of their plants. They did offer to replace them FREE OF CHARGE although I did pay a bit extra and 'upgraded' to pot grown plants. Had no problem with the new plants. Hope your supplier looks after you....

Thank you for ur comments, I live in Derbyshire, we haven't had much rain but I have been watering them, maybe not enough though, I will give them a good soak regularly and see what happen, can you over water them?

No - not unless there's solid concrete or something underneath the soil where you planted.

Not sure of your location but it has been so dry this month here in London, I would say plenty of water and see if they pick up.
