Does it hurt to plant flowers in the evening. If so when is the best time to plant them?

I ofetn plant in the evening as it can be cooler and when well watered in they have 12hrs to absorb water before the heat of the sun. better later in the day than in the morning.
also to echo owdboggy, the aching back can go straight in the bath afterwards :o)

I get badly bitten if I go into the garden in the evening. Nasty itchy lumps that last for weeks, from bugs that are so small you don't see them. They call these sorts of bugs "nosee'ums" in the States, but we call them midges. Nasty little blighters.

We always plant in the evening, here in the desert. The plants get all night long to grow roots and shake off the manhandling before facing the heat of day.
