i live in Solihull in the West Midlands. I have a (very precious!) olive tree (about 8ft tall) in a large (3 ft) pot. It has appeared to thrive since I had it 4 years ago, but it is now April and it has no leaves, nor apparent signs of any leaf growth.
Is it likely that the severe frosts in December may have killed it?
is there anything I can do?
Many thanks.

Hello janesusan5, one of the gardens i tend has a olive tree in a pot, which has definatley been killed off, have you done any bark scrapings to look for signs of healthy wood?, all the top growth on the olive mentioned is completley dead inc trunk, and will cut this down to the base to see if any new growth is sent up, julien.

Do as Julien says, scrape back some bark in various places. Unfortunately, as it was in a pot, chances are the pot froze for too long, killing off the plant.

How do I say thanks?
