Heuchera question.....
Greetings, fellow foliage fans! I've discovered Heucheras - I'll never be the same again!
It started with a cutting that my neighbour allowed me to take last week as a thank you for helping her dig out her dandelions. I'd never seen the plant before, so after a bit of googling to find out what it was, I instantly fell in love with Heucheras!!
I've since ordered a number of varieties (which haven't arrived yet) and am keen to add the cutting to the collection, therefore I need it's name. I've looked at countless photos and my money is on "Palace Purple" though I'm not 100%.
It's very purple on the underneath of the leaves and the stems, but quite brown/purple on the leaf fronts.
Is there anyone out there who can tell me for sure?
Kind regards,
Kat - the "heucheraddict."

It does look like Palace Purple. Daventray has one take a look at his to compare. I am so sorry you have been smitten with this bug. It becomes totally obsessive. I now have 33 different varieties and my husband has just built me a 7.2m x 2.4 m x 45cm high raised bed in which to grow and enjoy them. I carry a list of the varieties I have to try not to buy duplicates. Vicky another member has the National Collection of heucheras and you can see more of the ones she has available at www.plantagogo. She and her husband Richard are regular winners of awards at the national shows around the country. That is a lovely healthy looking plant and best of all they are evergreen or brown or gold. They come in lots of colours.

Hi chilekat
it could be one of the plum types 'plum pudding' or 'obsidian' but it is very nice the one you have.
