I have four Gunnera plants in my garden which I planted two years ago. Without any special care they have survived severe winter gales and last winter's hard prolonged icy weather. In fact they look very fine and healthy this spring. I'm concerned about spread, though. If I remove the seed pods would that prevent a gunnera invasion?

« Hi there, could somebody ID this picture for me please. Thanks.
For restriction purposes, you can reduce some of the clumps, thats assuming you have a large spread, and use a mathook to get them out, if you want to propagate them take out some clumps early spring. julien
