These small white flowers grow through my laurel hedge. Is it a weed?

Yes the leaves look like Vinca ( periwinkle ) with white flowers . Purple flowers are more common. If you like it that's fine but as Owdboggy has said it will spread and cover the ground so its up to you how far you want it to spread.

Thank you for your comments. It doesn't spread on the ground, it just grows through the hedge.

Spreading on the ground on your side of the hedge is probably the next step in its master plan for world domination. I bought some vinca the other day - it's only a weed if you don't want it.

It will spread and spread once it has got itself established. Fine if you want otherwise heave it out...

Well Casso, I like to make small arrangements of small flowers, and shoots of vinca are marvellous for filling in the gaps. If it isn't in the way I would leave it, but if you do worry about world domination you know what to do!

Thank you all for your advice. I think I will leave it as it brightens up the laurel hedge which is rather boring.

Looks like Vinca in its white from to me. I think it is a weed, but others like it. Certainly something of a rampant spreader if not controlled.
