Doronicum magnificum ...shade?
I bought one today for a shady border and was surprised when I got home to see the label said plant in full sun. The plant is altogether smaller and daintier than the usual ones, 2" flowers and only 2 feet high. Does anyone know if this really is a sun lover?
(Also went a bit mad and bought yet another hardy geranium, Hocus Pocus, with lovely purply leaves and the promise of blue flowers.)

I have seen these doronicums in both situations, looking good in dappled shade, but equally as good in full sun, so i think it will be ok in your shade border. julien.

Does not seem to bother them where they are. They self seed all over my garden.

Gosh do they? They never did in my old garden. Great, I live in hope!

Down my way, slugs and snails consider them a delicacy - grrrr

Oh dear. Snails and slugs I have in abundance, in spite of some busy winter thrushes! In fact I bought what turned out to be a very small blueberry and put it in a three inch square pot on the patio with some slug bait - there are now three dead snails in the pot and hardly any leaves on the blueberry. So I will watch out for the little darlins.
