Support for tomatoes in growbags. I have previously successfully grown tomatoes in my conservatory in large pots with 2m bamboo canes. This year I wanted to try using grow bags but wondered whether the canes would be supported in the growbags or whether I needed another form of support.
Thanks

I've just bought tomato cane supports from Crocus

haven't set them up yet though......

Whilst we grow in a greenhouse rather than conservatory I have tied a string the length of the greenhouse a few feet above the plants and just tied the top of my single cane/plant to the string. It is quite secure.

I found no support really works in grow bags once the plants are heavy. So last year I put the grow bag contents in to 2 large pots and that worked ok.

Thanks for the help so far. I saw an old gardener's question time where they had placed pots, with the bottoms removed on top of growbags. Has anyone tried this? By the way, I am using large pots again this year, as I cannot really use string in my conservatory.

Yes I did - you can buy the pots without the bottom for growing toms in grow bags they come in sets of 3, they are for holding in water not for supporting. I did not get on with them

You could use three canes tied together at the top, like a tepee--that would be partially self-supporting.
