What time of the year should I repot my bougainvillea?

The best time is in spring to early summer, or fall in the very mildest parts, like San Diego. Be sure to handle the root ball very carefully, since Bougie roots don't hold the soil together well. If a lot of soil falls off, and roots break, prune back the top by 1/3 to 1/2, to reduce the shock.
