my magnolia bush seems to be ill. The leaves are going brown and dead , no new groweth at all.?

Depending where you live, possibly got clobbered by the snow and hard frost last November.We removed ours a few days ago as it was as dead as the dodo due to frost hitting prior to sap descending into the root.
