i am about to sow some pansy seeds.i have bought plants in the past but the petals of the flowers always get chunks eaten out of them disfiguring them badly. the only activity that i can detect around the plants are ants and a few woodlice type insects. before i flood the area with my own plants i really need to erradicate this problem,please can you help .

The main culprits for eating flowers are slugs and earwigs.
