If the pot is large enough yes they will grow in, though they are better in the ground given their height. Need a good amount of sunlight in order to flower well. They are herbaceous perennials so die back completely in autumn and grow again in the spring.

So they are pernnials? Wow, even better. I won't have to buy them again next year.

Just remember to wrap the pot with bubble plastic in winter, to keep the soil from freezing!
