I stored last years hanging basket compost in an old dust bin. Looking at it this year it has a number of small balls dispersed in it, some bright green, some a dull brown. They both, when squeezed, pop releasing clear liquid. What are they?
Thanks for answer. I had already discounted that possibility on the grounds that they are so visble that I would have seen them at the time of planting, plus after over a year they would have disolved. Thanks anyway.

They will be slow-release fertiliser pellets added by the manufacturer of the compost.
