what is the best position to put an acer in a large pot< I( have one on my patio in full sun, but it looks a little drab at the moment, it is a young plant of about 1 foot tall, thin branches and small leaves, Where should it be placed?

Your acer needs to be in semi-shade, especially if you are in the south of England. Make sure you keep it well watered.

Yes semi-shade and they dont like a cold winter wind when they are young so semi-shade and sheltered position if possible. Pots dry out very quickly in summer so again I agree. Plenty water.

How do I say thanks?
