How long does it take for the garden birds to get use to a new feeder. I had 3 old rusty feeders and always loads of tits, robbins etc. there, so I thought Id replace them with some new ones about a week ago and I havnt seen a single bird there since.

It can takes months on end for birds to become or get their confidence back, to say a month or less is being rather optimistic because there is no set time period - they'll go to it in their own time.

We've noticed our feeders are hardly being used now - natural for the time of year. We've removed most of them and will put back out in autumn.

I find it sometimes takes weeks for the birds to feel safe and trust a new feeder and some they never do. Also they have periods when they do not visit at all and then they just reappear.

There is plenty of wild food for them to eat at the times they don't come to the feeders Louise.

I'd like a have miniature cameras on them to watch where they go and what they do though :-))))

Your looking at about a month maybe less for them to get used to the new ones. Well, that's how long it took for me. Good luck.
