I have been given an unusual house plant. It has long thing stems with variegated purple triangular leaves (three to a stem) which open in daylight and close at night. Also it has sprouted a delicate pink daisy like flower. It looks oriental to me but I would be more than pleased to know its name and origin and especially how to care for it.

Oxalis maybe? Sorry, I don't know too much above the plant, but someone will :-)

Please could you post a photo of your plant? Then one of us may well recognise it.

It does sound like Oxalis but as spritz said need a pic to be sure, also most types of Oxalis are out door not house plants, are you sure it is a house plant?

How do I say thanks?
