I have a young eucalyptus tree in my garden that appears to have died

I have a young eucalyptus tree (cider gum) in my garden that appears to have died, I think as a result of the harsh winter we had. However when I scraped the bark back lower down on the tree, it was still green underneath. Is there any wat the tree can be saved?

You don't say where you live, so its hard to be definite as to the problem - if the tree is less than 2 years old, and you live somewhere like the South of England, where its been extremely dry for weeks on end, suggest you leave the hose on a trickle at the base of the tree for at least an hour. New (less than 3 years old) trees need 2 gallons of water a week which you should provide if the weather is dry.
