my brother bought a poly carb and regretted it. He ended up duct taping some of the sheets in place.
I have glass and love it.

Every expert I have spoken to has recomended Glass as poly carb does nt let the light for straight growing like the old fashion glass I would go for glass.

Welcome to GOY. You can now get toughened glass which does not splinter like the old stuff did. It is more expensive but according to friends who know, it is worth spending the extra.

I practically live in my greenhouse and wouldn't have any thing but glass! It really is the best in my opinion.

I have toughened glass in my GH, I was wary of normal glass getting broken and I have pets.....

My greenhouse is a hybrid. It came with the house and had been positioned close to an established apple tree. The tree's canopy hadn't been contained so several panes of glass had been lost to seasonal apple-drop. I have used poly-carb at the sunny end and the portion of wall & roof nearest to the tree (I have also pruned the tree back hard). The poly-carb provides adequate shading in summer and is well and truely pinned into place against strong winds.
