I have just discovered saw worms on my gooseberry bushes. What should I use to get rid of them?

Pick them off, or spray with a solution of eco friendly washing up liquid or horticultural soap. They wont kill the plant just eat all the leaves.

Or use Provado Ultimate Bug Killer (suggested by RHS website). There is also a nematode solution made by Nemesys for gooseberry sawfly, completely non toxic, natural and effective - available online, google for info.

Thank you - I will go outside and do it now.

But cheer up - even if they eat most of the leaves it doesn't seem to kill the plant.

How do I say thanks?
