Thank you found it its nice a idea with anew pot where I have done this with an old terracota pot thats rim has broken off with frost .

If frost Is going to get this pot again it might be better to plant with an annual and store the pot over winter. A poor soil plant might work well such as a Nasturtium tumbling out? I wanted to do it with a Geranium zonal so that it looked as if it really had fallen over and broken and just left there, but alas I have still to do it!

Yes it woudl look great with nursturtium and like your idea of a geranium falling over.
There is so much you can have growing in spilling pots lets all see what we can come up with.
I dont mine leaving my old terracotta recyle pot it adds to a bit of character

do you mean pots laid on their side? i often plant up broken pots when they have split with the frost.
